A NIGHT AT THE
LITTLE 500
March 2, 2007
KARNAC message board fans, FASCAR and central Florida racers, and even some innocent by-standers all got tangled up in our night at the kart track.  This is what it was all about: a bunch of laughs!  I have no idea how many race people were there....35?  40?

back row (left to right)  The Boneman, Scooby, Auburn 195, Dan "the spin out king" Suggs  and Kevin Shultz.
middle row: Orlando Graphix, Frasson 118 and Michael Seay.
front row:  Samantha Petersen and the nights biggest winner, Donovan Ponder.
The Boneman amazed the crowd with a breath-taking display of driving skills!
Here is a guy who dished it out all night...Chuck Rush!
Frasson 118 prepares to pull the belts tight and go.  No kidding, this guy got noticably faster as the night went.  My prediction: he moves from the stands to a racecar in 2007, at least for a night.
Moe, of demo derby and "Carpocalypse" TV fame, came for some laughs too.  As usual, a trail of debris and broken parts followed Moe all night, but he had a great time, even though I don't think he had ever actually gone that fast before.
Look close and you'll see Speedworld GM Rusty Marcus.  This guy is a good sport!  For some reason, he was a marked man from the moment he hit the kart track.
One of the event instigators, Orlando Graphix, gets his game face on!
I know the following pictures are poor quality, but I took them WHILE DRIVING.  I thought it would be a good way to demoralize the competition if I took their picture as I passed them!  It is amazing these pix came out as well as they did.
No one had more fun than Cynthia Straley.  Here she had just spun out, (or probably got spun), so she posed for a portrait as I slid by!
All the cars clearly said "no bumping", but I was the only one who read and understood it.  After all, I was the cleanest driver there!
Cynthia recovered from her spin and went on to win one of the coveted "golden tickets" that are given out to the winners.
One night at the karts and former racer Kevin Schultz has decided to come out of retirement!
"Where is Ray?"
The night of a 1001 spins.  See the black stuff that covers most of the groove?  It is epoxy to make the cars sliiiiide!
After the track closed, 6 of us went to some karaoke place nearby to see Scooby perform.  Wow!  He might be the most erractic driver in history, but the man can sing and dance!
Tim Russell was on hand to practice up for his 2007 rides.  I think I overheard heard him say that the Sunbelt SLM series and an ARCA car at Daytona were less pressure than the Little 500.
