Green flag!

We had another great time at the Lil' 500.

Here is Linda Watford taking on her daughter Ashley as "Mudflap" drives up on the inside.
If you can't be at the race track, then you might as well be here.

Lil' 500 has epoxy in the corners, so you have to actually drive these things.  If you mix in a bunch of race people, then things get super competitive.... and lots of fun!
Here goes Dominick, happily sliding along, blissfully unaware of the sinister threat that lurks behind.
Dominick Marchese, the Speedworld Fire Chief, climbed behind the wheel too.
Live from the pages of KARNAC, its "Osmosis Jones"!  Matt Thorton made a two hour trip with his son to the Lil' 500.

To quote Matt, "I think the only car I passed was a 6 year old kid who actually put me in the wall the next lap. I truly sucked that bad. Completely owned by the Boneman who had the b---s to wave and laugh as he went by me. Jerk."

"Next year, I plan to come over the week before and spend a few hundred dollars learning every square inch of that hell hole."

Check out the new poster boy for Lil' 500, Calvin Moon.

This is what it was all about folks.
Matt and Dominick kick back with the new voice of New Smyrna Speedway, Mark Keeler.
John "Cowbell" Tenney struggles in this pitched battle with an elementary schooler.  It looks like John just did a bump and run...Cup style!
Here is a guy who has been there and done that in racing.  Ron McCreary had a blast on this little oval, and found it quite challenging.

He also got his first DQ of 2008 after an on-track dispute with an official.  Like we didn't see that one coming....
Ron McCreary is talking, and the technical inspector is not listening.  Surprise!
Michael Hollinger, (my oldest son!) was tearing it up all night at Lil' 500.
Mudflap hangs out with Scotty Ponder and his son Donovan.  He is a great kid who is tough to beat!
Speedworld manager Rusty Marcus was back for more action in 2008.  I don't think anyone had more fun than Rusty!
Strictly Stock hot shoe, and resident KARNAC scribe, Todd McCreary was on hand practicing for his 2008 season.  I think I overheard him say something like; "wow, these karts are much more powerful than my Ford Probe."
We had a great turn-out, but unfortunatly we didn't get pictures of dozens of people.  The group was estimated at 50-60 folks.
Daniel Lazslo and Margeaux wave the black flag, (probably for Ron McCreary) and give the blue "move-over" flag to a driver that was probably "cowbell".
